The writers have this great blessing from God through their work: that of setting things straight in writing. One says one thing, another says another, there are waves of hatred towards you, of masked indifference. But you come and set things straight, you tell the truth about yourself, you present the truth from within. And I’ve always read writers’ diaries as their truth, as the real truth, because they told the truth even when they exaggerated. Or when they styled things here and there. Because they were interested in what they experienced, what they thought, what they felt. The false praise given to dictators was for survival, for climbing on the step. The upstartness is always a cheap circus. The lion is made to jump through fire, the elephant to dance, the monkey to ride a bicycle, but the aspiring at upstartness revolves around the one in order to hypocritically lie to him, just as he likes.

Nobody lies to anyone, but the circle of lying works. The one who lies does not believe what he says, just as the one who is lied to does not believe either. But the lying is the cheap circus of dictatorship. The lying is the truth of old. For terror to work, you must be afraid, but you also must lie accordingly. You fear reprisals, your physical elimination, but at the same time you lie to be left alone. Your peace depends on a whole direction of survival. You lie carefully, you lie with interest, you lie with adrenaline. And yet, the dictatorship is not everyone, but only a small group, which stands up to the measure of public fear. The means of mass control also have their fissures. Behind an army of computers is a mind. To stop the computers, you have to go to the mind, to the one who puts them in function, because he too has his own life, his own family, his own aspirations.

Everything seems like a thicket, a labyrinth, but you must look at things from above. Because they are not at random, as they seem, but some, only some, take advantage. And when you hear that the mafia network has been dismantled, you must understand that it was no longer allowed to function. Because, until yesterday, the mafia and the State were together. They did well. But, for some reason, things broke down. Or, perhaps, on the facade, some things must break down in order to continue to function very well. Because offenders’ money is as good as ordinary citizens’. When you see them on the table, they all look the same. You put them in your pocket, you leave with them, you do your business, it doesn’t matter anymore…Anyone with an awake conscience asks questions. But what’s the use of having questions when everyone is stealing from everyone? They lie in wait, waiting for the right moment, picking your pockets when you’re euphoric, when you’re a little inattentive, when you’re worried about something else, and you get robbed in a big style. Why didn’t I look around, at who was on the subway, and start talking on the phone loudly?! Why did I rejoice in front of everyone, so that I am now looking for documents, for files, for evidence?!! The easiest thing is to lose, to get injured, to be scammed, even if he seemed like a good guy. Or precisely because he seemed like one, he stole everything from you.
